You Know Us Lord

You know us, Lord, you know our needs and our longings,
our joys and our sorrows...

You understand the inexplicable energy of our youth,
the tasks that pull us in the middle years,
and you know the frailties of age.

Remind us to live in the now of our lives,
to rejoice in each dawn, to take in the full measure of every day,
risking some and reaching some.

Let us not dwell in our affliction, nor take on the weight of the world;
instead, uphold us with the knowledge of  your true grace.

Let us seek comfort rather than turmoil,

Contentment with who we are, rather than a show of
who we think we should be,

and drreams, dear Lord, dreams, let us each day
fashion a life that leaves room for our dreams.

A day that lets us reach out with imagination

A day that rises up full in its celebration,

And a day that rest in the knowledge of

your eternal Love.

Amen
